The LGR brand was born from an intuition of Luca Gnecchi Ruscone. Since its foundation in 2008, LGR has aimed to propose a sophisticated approach to the world of eyewear, producing glasses that are the fullest expression of Made in Italy, conceived and manufactured to guarantee a high-quality standard and maximum durability. A product of true excellence and design.

Officially founded in 2008, the brand's history begins earlier, however, in 2005, when Luca, whose family has always had a deep connection with Africa - his grandfather Raffaello Bini started a small business in Asmara, Ottica Bini - during a trip to Eritrea, finds some vintage models in his grandfather's old Italian import warehouse and, struck by the beauty of their forms and their timeless elegance, he brings them back to Italy, their country of origin.

Those models were the first source of inspiration for the creation of the brand, LGR (from the acronym of the founder's name), and its first collection, and even today, they continue to guide its research and design.

All LGR glasses are produced in Italy using artisanal procedures, made entirely by hand by small artisan families who construct every single detail of the frame using only high-quality and durable materials: cellulose acetate, which thanks to its intrinsic flexibility and durability allows the frames to adapt to the wearer's face; ultralight metal, used for its solidity and infinite stylistic possibilities; lenses made of tempered mineral glass, a special technology that allows not only optimal vision quality but also has high anti-bump and anti-scratch resistance capabilities.
